Shapery.net Home

a mildly terrible website where ThePokemonkey123 hosts musings about shapes

Welcome to shapery.net! This is a place where I will be writing down any interesting shapery I get up to and want to inform the world about. This website is highly inspired by Bowers' site, so you will see me copying his style of polytope lists with categories. I'm also copying his site syling for now, because solid colors, horizontal lines, and text are all pretty easy to make, and this is my first time ever owning a website. There will, however, be pages on here that discuss a topic or theory rather than being lists of polytopes, and these will have to end up being more originally structured.

Polytope Listing Pages

These pages are the ones that just list polytopes (sometimes only loosely actually polytopes). Some of them will be bowersian and categorical, others will be relatively disorganized and just list things on one page.

Uniform Euclidean Tesselations - This points to my Bowers-style list of uniform tilings of euclidean space. Heavily inspired by Eric Binnendyk's now-missing page doing the same thing, which I will be using as a base for my content.

other ideas for things to put here: misalian lists, hyperbolic lists, dense lists, my works on johnson solids with one specific irregular polygon allowed, near miss johnsons, nobles list, ...

Definitions, Explanations, and Ideas

These pages are the ones that do not simply list polytopes, they discuss some concept, technique, definition, idea, etc. These could contain lists of terms, small lists of examples, or other lists of non-polytope objects, but I'll try to keep them mostly to discussion and explanation.

nothing here yet. ideas for things to put here: misalian cd diagram extension, The Disphenoid Swap, a general glossary for any stupid terms i came up with, a deep dive into the intricacies of squiggleprisms, enumeration of uniform skew polygons in 3d, failed ideas for discovering interesting polytopes, perhaps a discussion of computational polytopology methods once i ever get good at that, ...

Links and Downloads

Below are links to helpful and inspiring places, and any files or raw data I host on here. Currently just links, and will be expanded later.

Polytope Discord - This is now the place on the internet to discuss shapery. Join! I'm there!

Bowers' Site - This is Jonathan Bowers' famous site, including lots of polytope discussion as well as a lot of other assorted items. This is the main inspiration for my site, as is evident by the styling.
